The Episcopal Church is a Christian church, therefore we believe in the Trinity (God the Father, Jesus his Son, and the Holy Spirit). Our faith is founded upon Jesus Christ. Our Anglican theology is based upon Scripture, tradition, and reason.

The Holy Scripture of the Old and New Testaments is one of the foundations of Anglican belief. The traditions of the last 2000 years of Christianity, such as the Creeds, writings from the first centuries of Christianity, and the ordained ministry passed on by Christ to his Church, form another important part of Anglicanism. Finally, reason acts as a complement to Scripture and tradition. Each of us, with God’s help, decides how to best use Scripture and tradition in our life.

We believe that the sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist (Holy Communion) are sacraments of the Lord. Other sacraments of our church include marriage, confirmation, ordination, reconciliation of a penitent (confession), and unction (the blessing of the sick.)

A good synopsis of Episcopal belief is contained in the Apostles’ Creed.
