This instrument was built in 1889 by the Hook & Hastings firm of Boston. Commissioned by the Baptist Church of West Harwich, Massachusetts (on Cape Cod), the organ remained there until its removal in 2005, when the church building was sold.

The organ was bought for St. Andrew’s and, over a period of nearly 18 months, was lovingly restored by the S.L. Huntington Company. The oak casework was stripped of layers of paint and refinished. The pipes were redecorated in the original colors and pattern, using as a reference a photo of the organ taken shortly after its installation. The paint used for the decoration was milk paint, an historically accurate paint that imparts deep, rich coloration. The original hand-pumping system was restored to operation, so the organ can be played without the modern electric blower when desired.
